Bio

Janel Sharma is a licensed acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, and Tui Na (Chinese medical massage) practitioner. She graduated from one of the most prestigious Chinese medical schools in the United States, Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, with a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is certified and licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice as well as the California Acupuncture Board , and is designated a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

 

While in San Diego, she completed 990 clinic hours in addition to working with top athletes at the University of California San Diego. She is currently engaged in several postgraduate studies with some of the leading Chinese medicine practitioners in the West, including the Canonical Chinese Medicine Training program at the Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine under Dr. Arnaud Versluys, and the Zheng Gu Tui Na program under Frank Butler, L.Ac, and Tom Bisio, L.Ac. She also works as a translator for the highly respected French acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, and author Philippe Sionneau.

 

She has returned to Minnesota where she grew up to pursue private practice, and to participate in a traditional Chinese medical apprenticeship with a Chinese medical doctor and Orthopedic Surgeon from Tianjin, China. With her accumulated knowledge and advanced training, Janel specializes in treating pain, sports injuries, infertility, gynecological disorders, autoimmune disorders, neurological disorders, and gastrointestinal disorders.

 

Janel’s mission is to use acupuncture and Chinese herbs to help her patients achieve their personal goals for health so that they may live their lives to the fullest possible expression.
